70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, Mid claret. Very rich and full and round, Very slightly inky but massive and opulent. A little dry and green on the finish but pretty glamorous. Some freshness. Very pretty, with berry and sweet tobacco character. Medium body, fine tannins and a fresh and fruity finish. Delicious already. James Suckling |
Cropped at 46hl/ha, this has a deep garnet/purple core. The nose has moderate intensity although it lacks the precision of the 2006. Blackberries, tinctures of mulberry and fresh tobacco, developing touches of violets with aeration. The palate is medium-bodied, quite peppery, the tannins a little brusque at this early juncture, the finish dry and savoury, though lacking the weight and delineation I would like to have seen.
