Tasting Notes

Deep purple-red, quite restrained blackcurrant nose, but shows depth and breed, classy extraction of Margaux elegance, poised and sophisticated and will blossom out to gain fruit and complexity. Drink 2012-20.

Decanter Magazine

A bit lean, but some pleasant berry and spice character. Medium-bodied, with fine tannins and a medium finish.

James Suckling

Like other wines, this has a slight fishy scent on the nose although that dissipates with a few swirls. Blackberries, bilberry and a touch of cassis. Nice definition. The palate is fleshier than other Margaux, although it lacks a little structure and weight. Sweet ripe black cherries with a touch of greenness underneath and missing some finesse towards the soft finish. Tasted April 2008.
