Tasting Notes

Intense black-red, purple rim, deep concentration of Cabernet fruit, dense but not heavy, packed with fruit on the palate, a big, chewy wine of a weight rare in this vintage, but the fruit is pure and impressive, more power than elegance. Drink 2012-20.

Decanter Magazine

Gorgeous nose of crushed berry and currant. Medium-bodied, with pleasing fruit and tannins. Medium finish.

James Suckling

A blend of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon and 35% Merlot. A "soft" slightly muffled, meaty nose with perhaps a tad over-extracted? The palate is a lot better, with some robust tannin, quite chewy with ripe blackberry and raspberry fruit, good acidity and weight towards the finish. A forthright Margaux - this could turn out nicely after bottling but very backward compared to others. Tasted April 2008.
