Tasting Notes

Dense colour, pronounced Cabernet Sauvignon nose, slightly smoky, even leathery fruit, density of fruit, elegance over power, but power is there. Drink 2013-22.4 stars.

Decanter Magazine

Deep ruby. Strong mineral element on the nose, which also shows some ripe fruit. Round and flattering. Quite a fruit bomb! Very supple with pretty refined fruit. This could be a good buy...for early drinking. Drink 2011-18.

Jancis Robinson

A bit angular, with licorice, tobacco and berry character. Tar too. Medium-to-full body, firm tannins and a medium finish. Slightly hollow midpalate.

James Suckling

A very deep purple, garnet core. The nose is very intense with black fruits, sous-bois, very savoury fruits. Very lifted, developing touches of black cracked pepper and a hint of sea salt. The palate is medium-bodied, perhaps a little coarse with a slight burnt quality on the finish. A peculiar showing for Duhart - interesting and distinctive but lacking its usual breeding. This is disappointing. Tasted April 2008.
