Tasting Notes

Deep colour to the rim. Attractive pitch of ripeness with good fruit intensity. Tannins fine but firm. Freshness on the finish. Little more polished than 2006. Drink 2012-2020. 3 stars.

Decanter Magazine

Very blueish purple. Lots of vegetal character and acidity on the nose. Quite exciting though a hint of Sharp's (ie not very high quality) toffees. Some real life on the nose but dead fruit alas on the palate. Dry rather than sweet fruit but a bit inky and astringent. Shame! It promised so well.

Jancis Robinson

Intense black cherry on the nose. Medium body, fine tannins and a clean finish. Little hollow.

James Suckling

This is lacking just a little delineation and vitality on the nose. Black cherries, mocha, blackberry and a touch of dark chocolate. A very lactic nose. Full-bodied on the palate with ripe blackberries, white pepper, a touch of mulberry although dry and animally on the finish. Assertive but lacking a little grace and very disjointed at this point. Tasted April 2008.
