Rich purple-red, good crushed berry fruit and nice smoothness and ripeness, attractive weight and balance, but in the lighter, more forward style. Drink 2012-17. 3 stars. Decanter Magazine |
Weak rim. Heady nose then a little bit watery on the mid palate. Uncomfortably chewy wine at this stage with some green notes on the finish. Hollow in the middle. Jancis Robinson |
A blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot with 12% pressed wine. The nose is unusually tight for this Château Lagrange. Blackberry, cedar with a hint of red cherry. But the palate is much more expressive and full-bodied with touches of spice, blackberry, lots of cedar and assertive but not abrasive tannins on the finish. Very good persistency on the finish.
