Tasting Notes

Intense deep red, good intensity of fruit, slightly floral and lifted, quite meaty middle palate and good ripeness overall, good Saint-Julien for medium term. Drink 2012-18. 4 stars.

Decanter Magazine

Very healthy crimson. Light, savoury and a little bit leafy. Sweet palate but very round, light tannins. Not desperately refreshing but an easy drink with some sap. Pretty green finish. Drink 2011-17.

Jancis Robinson

Has a pretty core of ripe plum and berry fruit, with a medium body, fine tannins and a clean finish.

James Suckling

This Talbot has very good ripeness on the nose with dense black fruit, although if anything it is perhaps lacking a little delineation. Lifted blackberries, a touch of iodine and wine gums. The palate is medium-bodied: this is obviously a wine in which a lot of work has gone into. Blackberry, cedar and a touch of bilberry, quite chewy tannins with a sappy finish. This is either going to be wonderful after bottling or the exact opposite let's hope the latter. Good effort. Tasted April 2008.
